Kiddie Canes Preschool
The Monroe Kiddie Canes Preschool Program is a private preschool located inside Monroe Area High School. Preschoolers are admitted through an application process on a first-come, first-served basis. Our class consists of children 3-4 years old. The preschoolers are taught by high school students, Tuesday through Friday, from 9:15-2:15. The high school students spend the first month of school researching child development and teaching techniques lead by the Early Childhood Education instructor, Dr. Maggie Stephens. Dr. Stephens is a certified teacher with credentials in both preschool and high school education. Ms. Mary Bailey is the class paraprofessional.
Our preschool follows the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS: www.gelds.decal.ga.gov), as well as the Kindergarten Common Core Standards (www.gelds.decal.ga.gov).
